January 27th Avery celebrated her 3rd birthday. She had a fantastic time. We made Princess hats with our preschool friends. Celebrated with a ton of family, opened lots of fun presents (a Princess Castle, a new bike, Princess Ariel and Cinderella, some fun animal colorforms for church, Chutes and Ladders, some pretty hair stuff, some princess coloring books, and a hula hoop), and ate delicious cake and ice cream.
I started having early morning meetings before our 9 am church, so I started curling Avery's hair with sponge curlers the night before...she absolutely loved it. And calls it her "pretty hair."
Cinderella Avery was put in charge of cooking and cleaning duties while I was on light activity. She didn't mind a bit.
Valentine's Day came and went. Avery made heart cookies for the family and her friends. She really does love helping in the kitchen.
We decided it was finally time for another car, so we went car shopping. Avery couldn't handle the pressure so she fell asleep...while eating her free popcorn, mind you.
She went to Lincoln's bowling birthday party and had an absolute blast.
And I continued to get fatter.
Easter came, we dyed eggs and Avery got a ton of loot. However, she was rather grumpy. (9am church is a killer on holidays)
After church she was much happier and even smiled for the camera.
A week later this happened.
Seriously, it was the Winter that wouldn't die.
It just kept snowing. And on April 18th, it looked like this outside.
Bridger James Hawes was born on April 18th at 7:19pm. He weighed 7lbs 9 oz and was 21.5 in in length. We think he's pretty darn cute.
Avery wasn't so sure about the Dr. poking at Bridger, so she let Avery have a turn listening to his heart.
And she sang him Happy Birthday.
And got to hold him as a reward. She's been so INCREDIBLE with him. She loves him to death...but not literally.
Bridger fit right into our little family and soon it was like he was always here.
This picture isn't the best but it's Bridger right before his first Sunday at church (Mother's Day)...he was so excited he couldn't hold still.
Avery helps Bridger out with tummy time. And you know what, he doesn't mind it as much when she's there.
We blessed him on June 2, 2013. Greg did a fantastic job. And Bridger didn't make a peep, but he looked pretty darn cute in his little sweater vest and pants.
Bridger is such a smilely happy baby and Avery is just the best big sister.
They've become best friends. And our little family is so happy!
