Monkeying Around

Greg and I decided it was time for another trip to the zoo so we loaded up the little girl and her Minnesota Grandma and headed out.

First stop was the duck/flamingo pond. Avery probably could have stayed there all day watching the ducks and birds. Those are her favorite things in the whole world.

She even got to see a little baby flamingo being fed by its mommy!

The polar bears were next. She loved being able to stare at the big bears.

The penguins were next. Greg held her up so she could get a better view.

It was a beautiful day. Early September is gorgeous in Minnesota. Avery hung out in her stroller in between exhibits.

She got up close and personal with this orangutan. Here she is making sure Grandma is seeing this.

Staring at another small monkey.

Riding on a fake giraffe.

Posing with a gorilla.

On another note...Lincoln and Avery are fast becoming fuseball experts. Greg says "It's never too early to start training."

Burger Queen

Queen of Playground! Avery's first trip to the Burger King playground was a hit...she loved going down the huge slide.

A Year and a 1/2

So August marked the 18 month milestone (technically July 27th marked it...but that's close to August). 18 months is a pretty big deal around here because it means pretty pictures and more importantly NURSERY!!! Hooray!! And since I haven't taken any pictures of Avery in nursery...here's some of her being 18 months old.

Tennessee...How I've Missed You

So when we traveled down to the great South, we got to visit my grandparents in Tennessee. Their house pretty much looks like the Garden of Eden in my opinion.

My granddaddy built this house in the 70's. Here's looking towards the house.

Looking at the front yard from the porch.

Pretty fountain.

Beautiful flowers.

We ate lots of yummy food. And Avery is sitting in the same highchair I sat in when I was her age. Still works!

We did a little bow shooting. Don't worry we used a cardboard target.

And Greg really nailed it! See that bullseye. He actually hit the stake that was holding the target up as well and broke the arrow! Impressive!

We watched the hummingbirds.

We swung on the swings.

We looked at Jesus clouds...can't you just imagine Jesus appearing in the middle of these??? They remind me of those sacrament program covers.

We rode around on the tractor.

And we marveled at all the trees.

Braves Game

Georgia was FANTASTIC. While there we partook of a Braves game at Turner Field. Greg can now say he's seen the Braves on their home turf.

The field/players looked like this...

Greg and I looked like this...

A shot taken right before a GRAND SLAM!!  How many people can say they've seen a Grand Slam live??? Well now we can!

These crazy things ran around the field in a Home Depot race...fitting seeing how they're tools.

Then the rains came and my pictures started to suck. But the Braves won and we had a great time!
